Last day in January

Not much new this week. We took the kids up to Keystone today to ski. Sarah got pretty cold (it was in the single digits or negative factoring in the wind chill) after a couple runs, so she hung out with Mommy and Johnny in the lodge while Daddy took a few runs in the fresh powder.

But unrelated to today's events, here are a couple of pictures which are now a couple of weeks old!

Sarah thought it would be fun to wear Daddy's Patagonia fleece pullover with her legs through the arms and the neck zipped up around her waist.

We spent the weekend at Keystone at "Mr. Chris's house" with Sarah's friend Max. Sarah rode up the magic carpet a few times until she noticed people riding the ski lift. We spent the rest of the afternoon going up the lift and skiing down squealing with joy as daddy kept her from falling.

St. Mary's Glacier

St. marys glacier! I felt bad that we had to leave Remy at home when we went snowshoeing earlier in the day, so instead of going up to a resort this afternoon, I decided to ski St. Mary's Glacier with him. I strapped my snowshoes onto my Telemark boots, shoe-ed up, then ski-ed down. I had to stop every so often so Remy could catch up with me, then he would skid and do a Freddy Flinstone (as he tried to stop) on the super hardpacked/windblown snow of the glacier!! Family Outing!

We headed up to Squaw mountain this morning to take Sarah and Johnny snowshoeing. Well, actually, Sarah preferred haveing daddy pull her in the sled, but she did get out for a while and snowshoed along with us! We had to leave Remy at home since we were pretty packed out in our rental car (can't wait to get our Disco back!) These photos were taken with my phone.

More Snow Fun

Sarah wanted to go sledding in our yard today, so Mommy and Daddy took turns pulling her around and riding down the steeper slopes with her. The snow has started to melt/settle somewhat, but we still hit patches in the shade that were easily hip deep!!





Dan picked up his new monster Craftsman Snow Blower with a 9hp Tecumseh engine. This thing really plows through the deep stuff. Can't wait until the next big snow!!






Meanwhile...the icicles continue to grow, break off, then grow some more. Some of the larger ones have attached to our "icicle" Christmas lights and subsequently ripped them down. Guess I'll be buying new lights next year.

Snow Shoeing

So after 5 or so feet of accumulated snow within a week, Sarah wanted to test out her new MSR snow shoes.
