Sarah's new remote control car

Sarah received a remote controlled car from Nana and Papa-O for her birthday. So of course one of the first things she did with it was to torment poor Remy. Check out this video.

First Snowball of the Season!

It snowed today for the second time this October. Two of the local ski resorts are already open and we are getting pretty excited. Here is a picture of Sarah with her first snowball this season.

Georgetown Loop Railroad

When Grandma and Grandpa were in town, we took a trip to Georgetown to ride the Loop Railroad. Sarah really enjoyed the ride, but thought the train was rather loud.

Johnny vs. Sarah

Check this out...Johnny is on the left at 7 months and Sarah was 9 months. We just happened to snap the picture of Johnny the other day and thought it was similar to one we took of Sarah when she was about the same age. We didn't realize just how similar they actually looked (both the composition of the picture _and_ the little ones themselves)!! We'll try to remember to take another picture like this of Johnny in a couple of months for an even better comparison.

Poor Remy

Remy's new collar!! Poor Remy has an itch behind his ear and has to wear this shield so he doesn't scratch at it. He walks around the house bumping into everything. We should be able to take it off in a week or so. We had previously treated this alergic reaction with anti-biots and steroids, but just as it was almost completely healed, he scratched at it and ripped off the scab into a bloody mess. Sarah figures that if his friend, Cedar, needs a "hat" too, that it would have to be brown, because Cedar is brown and it would match!!

Elk at the Bird Feeder

This elk decided to eat the last peanut in our bird feeder. The feeder has been up for months and the elk have never seemed to bother it. Apparently the birds didn't finish all the food (rare!) and left a treat for the elk in the evening. This one batted the feeder around, and finally knocked it down. The elk was pretty big as the feeder is at least chest height on me. I guess I'll have to put the feeder up even higher!

April (SNOW!) Showers

We got about 2 feet of wet, heavy snow Tuesday. By Wednesday it was in the upper 40s so Sarah wanted to get out to play. Here she is with Mommy building a snowman on the deck.

But...Remy wasn't too sure about this guy.

Mommy painted Sarah's fingernails and toenails today. She just loves them! Here she is posing for the camera.












Sarah is also really into her "flower" (we have no idea what it is!) which she planted at school. She checks it every day "Look, it's growing!!!"

Bouncy Johnny Video

Wintery Scene

Yesterday it was in the 60s and sunny. Today it is in the 30s and Snowy. Tomorrow will be in the 60s and sunny...
Here's a pic taken of the snow falling on our seasonal stream out the back yard. It has been so warm recently that all the (many feet of) snow we had has melted quickly.

So Johnny is not quite as neat an eater as Sarah. Here he is eating his dinner of rice cereal and avocado. Every time you get the spoon near his mouth, both hands come up to "help" get half the food into his mouth, and half onto his face, hair, ears, etc...

At the park yesterday - Upper 60's and sunny. Sarah enjoys the swings and throwing rocks into the stream in the background. You can see that Johnny was hanging out as well (his little feet sticking out of the stroller).
This was another shot from my phone's camera, which is why the image quality is so bad...

Sarah-ism

No pictures today, but I was just reminded of something Sarah said recently. The TV was on in the background while she was playing with her toys and an Army commercial came on. It said "There' s strong, then there's Army strong." Sarah immediately recited "There's strong, then there's BARBIE strong." I couldn't stop laughing!

So here we are at the first weekend in March. It kinda came in like a lion as we got about 8 inches of new snow at the beginning of the week along with crazy strong winds. Of course, this week it's supposed to be in the mid to upper 50's every day! Sarah still loves it when we get new snow and Johnny is having fun turning 5 months, as you can see from these pics...

Even I was able to get outside and have some fun last week. Here's a photo of my buddy, Chris, and I at the summit of our ice climbing day on Mt. Lincoln. We had great weather and the ice was in fantastic shape!










And, finally, here's what happens when your hottub springs a leak mid winter... (those are huge columns of ice that have been forming over the last couple of weeks!)
